For fifty years the IPA has provided an extensive range of training and development programmes for management and staff of public sector bodies and publicly funded institutions. Some 300 short-term courses are provided each year in the Institute’s Training and Education Centre based in Dublin or in regional or in-house client venues. The Institute’s interdisciplinary, professional training staff includes functional specialists in areas such as: executive coaching, leadership, general management, project management, service delivery, personal effectiveness, business planning and process reengineering, financial management, accounting, governance and risk management, procurement, internal audit, human resource management, mediation and information systems, as well as sartorial experts and practitioners concentrating on, for example, local government, health services or the civil service and state agencies.
The Training and Development Division offers a suite of accredited certificate, diploma and professional level programmes addressing specific subject areas such as:

These programmes are accredited by the National University of Ireland and/or other professional bodies.
